Device – represents a specific network node for data acquisition (PLC, sensor, computer, module I/O). It organizes a communication channel for working with physical hardware.
Subdevice – represents a child element of the device and works with the same communication channel as the device. Each subdevice has a specific priority with which it will access the channel. Highest priority value means that the subdevice will gain access first. In this case, the parent device always has the highest priority.
The concept of a device and subdevice allows for working with Modbus TCP/Modbus RTU interface converter if there is more than one node in the RTU network
The current version of the server includes a set of drivers for:
- Modbus TCP and Modbus RTU/ASCII
- S7 for Siemens PLCs S7-300/S7-400/S7-1200/S7-1500 and Sinamics
- Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMPv1, SNMPv2c)
